Meet Jennifer Flett: A Proven Leader Rooted in Community, Service, and Accountability
Jennifer is the granddaughter of George and Martha Flett and the youngest daughter of George and Maggie Flett and is a loving aunt to twenty-three nieces and nephews. She grew up in OCN amongst family and friends and is looking to improve the lives of all membership.
She is a dynamic and deeply committed leader with a long serving record of public service, community advocacy, and strategic governance.
As a former Vice Chief and Councillor of the Opaskwayak Cree Nation (2016–2021), Jennifer Flett served her community with integrity, advancing programs and initiatives that directly improved the lives of OCN members. She was instrumental in creating programs that directly support OCN membership including the bingos that raises money for the Wichitowin Program (Bereavement) and looked to create other sole source revenue ventures to address issues that are not addressed through government funded programs.
With the demonstration and guidance from past leadership, that includes family, friends and mentors, Jennifer plans on continuing the rich, strong and proud history of the Opaskwayak Cree Nation
Her consistent involvement with OCN (through various Boards, Committees and community events) demonstrates her commitment to the community and its entire membership.
Jennifer has been a committee member, Board member, Council member and advocate with and for OCN for well over 15 years.
